EUSTIS -- Alex Ercoli, 83, died Sunday (Aug. 4, 2002) at the Cozad Hospital.
He was born Nov. 1, 1918, at West Newton, Pa., to Alexander and Susan Ercoli. He graduated from high school in Pennsylvania and served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
In 1945, he married Verna Stombaugh at Eustis. They resided in Pennsylvania for 13 years before returning to a farmsite southwest of Eustis.
He was a member of the former Salem Lutheran Church southeast of Eustis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna on July 20, 2002; and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Griswold of Lincoln; a son, Carl Ercoli and wife, Ann of Eustis; a sister, Viola Andrews of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a brother, Joseph Ercoli and wife, Helen also of Pittsburgh; and one grandson.
A combined graveside service for Alex and Verna Ercoli will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with the Rev. Bill Waterman officiating.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial has been established.
