Larry E. Forbes, 65, died Tuesday (August 6, 2002) at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
He was born June 18, 1937 to Ralph Kenneth and Alma Gail (Puckett) Forbes at Sedan, Kan. He grew up in Sedan and graduated from Sedan High School in 1956.
He served in the U. S. Navy July 3, 1956 through July 2, 1960, as an Aviation Ordinance man. He moved to McCook in 1962.
On March 22, 1963 he married Midge Haller in Denver, Colo. He worked for Mc Cook Public Schools for 35 years, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Kenneth in 1973, Timothy in 1968 and Robert in 1971; a brother Robert; father-in-law Paul Haller and a brother-in-law Frank Haller.
Survivors include: his wife Midge of McCook; two sons, Mark Forbes and wife, Sueann and Steven Forbes and wife, Lorenda all of Beaver City; a daughter Marshell and husband, Jim Kennedy of Goodland, Kan.; a brother, Clarence Forbes and wife, Ruth of Wichita, Kan.; mother-in-law, Leona Haller of Stratton; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at St Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The rosary will be said Thursday, 7:30 p.m., at the Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m.- 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
