SELDEN -- Leona Vaughn, 77, died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 2002) at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kan.
She was born Feb. 25, 1925, to Bernard and Louise (Baalman) Korte in Angelus, Kan. She was raised in Angelus. She was educated in Torrington, Wyo.
On Jan 27, 1948, she married Edward "Bill" Vaughn in Selden. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Selden Rose and Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Henry, Paul, George, Pete, Clem and Fred; and one sister, Eleanor.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Selden; two sons, Murray Vaughn of Selden and Gary Vaughn and wife, De of Farmington, N.M.; one daughter, Karen and husband, Roger Raymond of Colby, Kan.; one brother, Leonard Korte and wife, Vi of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mary Dickman of Grinnell, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden with the Rev. Matthew and Deacon Stan Chapin officiating. Interment will be in the Selden Cemetery.
A rosary service will be Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden.
Visitation will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name.
