Mamie W. Shields, 89, died Tuesday (Sept. 3, 2002) at Community Hospital of McCook.
She was born Nov. 4, 1912, to Henry C. and Lena S. (Haase) Kisker in McCook. She grew up in the Ash Creek Community and graduated from Red Willow High School in 1930. She was employed as a bookkeeper at First National Bank for many years.
On Feb. 19, 1955, she married Elmer Shields at St. Patrick's Rectory in McCook. She spent her life in McCook.
She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church at Ash Creek and the Lutheran Women's League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 1998; her parents; one brother, Alvin Kisker; and one sister, Vera Schaffert.
Survivors include one sister, Velma and husband, Herbert Lauer of McCook; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Ash Creek Community with the Rev. Brian Hopfensperger officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at McCook.
Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at the funeral home.
