Elizabeth Ann 'Babe' Scott

CAMBRIDGE -- Elizabeth Ann "Babe" Scott, 95, died Wednesday (Sept. 4, 2002) at the Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton, Colo.

She was born Jan. 13, 1907, to Joseph and Minnie (Fitzgibbon) Hiatt. She attended Cambridge High School and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

On Jan. 26, 1926, she married George B. Scott. The couple made their home on a farm north of Cambridge. She was a homemaker and she worked at the thrift shop in Cambridge.

She was a member of the Church of God in Holbrook.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Elma; five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Foster of Bridgeport and Karen and husband, Robert Simmons of Keenesburg, Colo.; one son, Richard and wife, Genie Scott of Troy, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Sunday, 2 p.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be left in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
