IMPERIAL -- Lois Ruth (McFadden) Molzahn, 83, died Sunday (Sept. 14, 2002) at Chase County Hospital in Imperial.
She was born Oct. 27, 1918, to Troy and Edna Mae (Beck) McFadden. She grew up on a farm east of Imperial. She attended school in Rural District 21, Chase County High School and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She taught in Rural District 23 Northeast of Imperial after receiving her education.
On June 9, 1940, she married Herman Arthur Molzahn in Imperial. The couple made their home on a farm one mile northwest of Imperial for three years. They then moved to another farm north of Imperial. In 1976, the couple moved to a newly built home in Imperial to retire.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial; a 4-H leader; a board member of the Chase County Extension Service and the Golden West Extension Club; an active participant in Zion Church Organizations of the Willing Workers and the Lutheran's Women Missionary League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; two sons, Kent and Craig; her parents; one brother, David; and two brothers-in-law, John Hayes and Edward Molzahn.
Survivors include one sister, Alice Hayes of Imperial; and three sisters-in-law, Francis Kernick of Grand Junction, Colo., Evelyn McCormick of Denver, Colo., and Eleanor and husband, Arthur Wagner of Imperial.
Services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m. (MDT), at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial with the Rev. Robert Frank officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-6 p.m. (MDT), at the Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial.
Memorials may be given to the Herman and Ruth Molzahn Scholarship fund in care of Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial.
