LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Kenneth A. Lipps, 51, died Saturday (Sept. 14, 2002) in Laramie, Wyo.
He was born May 8, 1951, in Killeen, Texas, to Raymond and Olive (Baker) Lipps. At a young age, he moved with his family to Wheatland, Wyo. where he attended Wheatland Public Schools before joining the U.S. Army and serving for 23 years. He was stationed in several locations including Vietnam, Germany and Korea as well as Kansas and Oklahoma.
On Dec. 2, 1986, he married Kum S. Kim in Davenport, Iowa. In January 1992, he retired from the military and moved to Nebraska where he worked as the manager of the Walmart Tire and Lube Express in McCook. The family has lived in Laramie for the past two years.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his wife, Kum S. Lipps of Laramie; one son, J.R. Lipps of Laramie; a daughter, Nicki Beer of Goldendale, Wash.; his father, Raymond Lipps of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Jack Lipps of Rawlins, Wyo., John Carberry of Wheatland and John H. Lipps of New Orleans, La.; three sisters, Donnis Throne of Wheatland, Debra Norton of Carlisle, Pa. and Delila J. Knapp of Carmel, Ind.; and one grandson, Tyler.
Funeral services were today, 10 a.m., at the Heggie Family Mortuary in Laramie. Graveside services followed at 2 p.m. at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyo.
