Mildred L. Fritsch

Mildred L. Fritsch, 83, died Wednesday (Oct. 9, 2002) at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyo.

She was born Dec. 19, 1918, in Decatur County to George L. and Lena V. (Bryan) Harris. She grew up in McCook where she graduated from McCook High School in 1937. She was employed by A & M Rexall Drug Store and the Olympia Candy Company in McCook.

On Dec. 1, 1944, she married Orville Fritsch at Atwood. They made their home in McCook before moving to Trenton in 1953, where her husband owned and operated a dry cleaning business. From 1955 until 1985, she and her husband were partners in the Herrmann Funeral Home at Trenton. They retired in 1985 and have lived in McCook for the past ten years.

She was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star at Stratton and a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Benkelman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infants, Sandra Kay and Larry Raymond Fritsch; four brothers, Byron (Pete) Harris, Charles Harris, Wilbur Harris and Donald Harris; one sister, Lucille (Meints) Solko; and one grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Orville of McCook; one son, William Fritsch and wife, Rita of Trenton; one sister, Phyllis Anderson of Auburn; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Inurnment will be in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at a later date.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may call at the funeral home.
