ATWOOD -- Thelma L. Crist, 93, died Friday (Oct. 11, 2002) at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born Jan. 26, 1909, to Greenup C. and Adelia (Smith) Leeper in rural Rawlins County. She was a resident of the Rawlins County area most of her life.

On Sept. 28, 1930, she married Everett A. Crist at Atwood. She was a homemaker and a former teacher.

She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Atwood; Home and Fireside Extension Club and the Atwood Senior Citizens Board of which she was instrumental in organizing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; one daughter, Viola Crist; her stepfather; and several step-brothers and step-sisters.

Survivors include one son, Lowell Everett Crist and wife, Sharon of Kennewick, Wash.; two sisters-in-law, Ilene Baker and Iris Holsinger; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Atwood with the Rev. James Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to the church; the Crist Family Scholarship Fund; or to the Atwood Second Century Fund.
