SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Robert D. Schneider was born Sept. 16, 1933, on his uncle and aunt's farm south of Imperial. He died on Oct. 21, 2002, at Sacramento, Calif. His father and mother were Dean and Margaret Schneider of rural Funk. He attended Prairie Rose school, District 11, his first five years of grade school and then District 11 consolidated with Axtell Public Schools.
During his high school years Bob played football and in his senior year was named all state center. Bob sometimes served as captain and co-captain of the team. During three of those years Axtell was undefeated and won 2 state championships. Bob was a great inspiration to his fellow team members.
During his high school years Bob made the decision to receive Christ as his personal Savior at Maranatha Bible Camp at Maxwell.
Bob graduated in 1951, served in the U.S. Air Force, attended two years of college at the University of South Dakota and then transferred to the University of Denver. After graduation he moved to California where he went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. After a distinguished career with the IRS, he retired and spent the last several years of his life working on the geneology of his family.
On Feb. 9, 1959, Bob married Patricia McMahon. To this union was born one daughter, Monique.
Bob leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Patty of Sacremento, Calif.; his daughter Monique of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; his brother David and wife, Barbara of Ripon, Calif., his brother James of Commerce, Calif., his twin brother Paul and wife, Delores of McCook, his sister Leonora Rogers of Meade, Kan., his brother Earl of Fowler, Kan.; and his sister Carolyn Schneider of Lodi, Calif.; plus his nieces and nephews and a host of relatives.
There was no visitation. Bob willed his body to the University of California at Davis for cancer research and then his body was cremated.
