PALISADE -- Kenneth E. Ungles, 89, died Monday (Oct. 28, 2002) at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Arapahoe.
He was born Jan. 20, 1913, in Dundy County, to William Thomas and Essie Frances (Graves) Ungles. He grew up at Palisade where he received his education. For 22 years, he was employed by Southwest Public Power at Palisade.
On April 2, 1932, he married Louisa Tarr at McCook. They spent their married lives at Palisade. For 20 years, he worked for Krotter Lumber and was later a caretaker at the Palisade Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louisa in 1999; four brothers, Victor, Elby, Fern and LaVerne Ungles; and two sisters, Lois Burton and Pauline Goodson.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth O. Ungles and wife, Darlene of Humphrey; two sisters, Maxine Butter and Lorene Butter both of Arapahoe; and two grandsons.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Palisade Cemetery with Ray Ridlen officiating. Interment will be in the Palisade Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. today.
