PALISADE -- Dale A. Pugh, 83, died Wednesday (Oct. 30, 2002) at Community Hospital of McCook.
He was born Dec. 2, 1918, at Madison, to Blaine Albert and Grace Lucinda (Young) Pugh. He attended rural school near Palisade. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1945, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
On May 16, 1942, he married Nelma R. Smoots at Trenton. They made their home on a farm near Palisade. He farmed for many years and was also employed by Palisade Schools as a custodian for 16 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Blaine and Grace Pugh; and two brothers, Charles and Baize Pugh.
Survivors include his wife, Nelma of Palisade; two daughters, Carol and husband, Edward Phillips, of Lakewood, Colo. and Lynda and husband, Larry Tincher, of Broken Bow; one sister, Edith Peterson of McCook; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Palisade United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Burial will be in the Palisade Cemetery with a full military committal service.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in his name.
