Ida M. 'Heidi' Blair

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Ida M. "Heidi" Blair died Saturday (Oct. 26, 2002) in Grand Junction, Colo. She was born Feb. 11, 1913, to August Henry and Dicy Rebecca Meyer at Auburn.

The family moved to Lincoln when she was four years old. She spent her childhood there and attended school. She graduated from Lincoln High School and Lincoln Business College with a degree in bookkeeping.

She married Jack Molsbee, a dental laboratory technician, in December of 1936. They moved to McCook to open and operate the McCook Dental Laboratory for 32 years. She was instrumental, along with three others, in organizing The McCook Art Guild. She was a member of the McCook Community Symphony and Chorus, playing the violin and singing. She was a member of the McCook Community Little Theatre.

When her husband retired in 1971, they moved to Rogers, Ark. Again, she was one of three organizing members of the Rogers Art Guild. While she lived in Rogers, she became a member of The American League of National Pen Women. She was a member of the University of Arkansas Symphony at Fayetteville, Ark., and a member of the Sweet Adelines Chapter.

When her husband, Jack passed away in 1975, she moved to Sedona, Ariz., where she actively continued her art and music careers.

She married Bill Blair in 1978. That marriage ended in divorce in 1989. She later moved to Grand Junction. She was active in volunteer work at St. Mary's Rehab Center and Occupational Health. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline and husband, Con Pyle of Grand Junction and Heidi Jo and husband, Kenneth Englade of Rio Rancho, N.M.; four grandchildren, Erika Hizel of San Antonio, Texas, Alexis Hizel of Tempe, Ariz., David Pyle of Annabel, N.J., and Connie Pyle of Grand Junction; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Christopher Pyle.

A celebration of life was held Wednesday (Oct. 30, 2002) at the First Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction. Memorial contributions may be made to the Starlight Children's Foundation of Colorado, 720 S. Colorado Blvd. Ste. 350, Denver, CO 80246.
