Arlus D. Hueftle died Monday (Nov. 4, 2002) at Bryan LGH East at Lincoln. He was 62 years old.
Arlus was born Sept. 25, 1940, at Holdrege, to Earl A. and Almina C. (Francis) Hueftle. He graduated from Eustis High School in 1958.
On Oct. 18, 1986, he married Dorene D. Welte at McCook. In 1983, Arlus was employed as a car salesman for Lee Janssen Motor Company. He was working for Republican Valley Motor Company at the time of his death.
Arlus was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the McCook Jaycees, earned the title of State Jaycee of the Year in 1973, and was nominated for the National Jaycee of the Year. He was a Boy Scout, Eagle Scout and earned Order of the Arrow. He loved all sports including hunting and fishing, and coached many youth athletic teams.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Earl and Almina Hueflte; and two sisters, Cleo Losey and Carol Sue.
Survivors include his wife, Dorene Hueftle of McCook; three sons, Preston Hueftle at home, Todd Hueflte and fiancee, Christy, of Bartley and Chad Hueftle and wife, Heidi, of McCook; one brother, George Hueftle and wife, Yvonne, of Brady; one sister, Gwen and husband, Dale Johnson, of Holdrege; mother-in-law, Dorothy Duval of McCook; brother-in-law, Howard "Tom" Losey of Republican City; and grandchildren, Casey, Zachery, Michael, Arianna, Tyler, Jonathon, Hannah, Jayden, Taytem and the arrival of Quinton in January.
Services will be Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, 2 p.m., at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Carl E. Pullmann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday until 5 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m..
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name.
