PALISADE, Colo. -- Goldie May Thomas, 93, died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2002) at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
She was born May 26, 1909, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Sprague) Knight in Stratton, where she spent her childhood and attended schools in a one-room school. She moved to Boulder, Colo., in 1943 and lived in DeBeque, Colo., Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Grand Junction prior to moving to Palisade, Colo., in 1999.
She married Cassie Thomas at Clifton, Colo. He died July 31, 1990. She was previously married to Delbert Bostock who died in 1974, and to Ralph Hepler, whom she married at Benkelman. They farmed north of Stratton for several years. Hepler died in 1971. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Palisade Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cassie Thomas, Delbert Bostock and Ralph Hepler; an infant daughter, Jean Hepler; two sons, Dale Hepler and Larry Hepler; and two sisters, Fern Terwilliger and Dorothy Glonek.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hepler and wife, Linda of Morrison, Colo.; a step-son Jimmie Thomas and wife, Donna of Glenwood Springs; a step-daughter, Betty Linville of Grand Junction; a brother, Verlin Knight of Corpus Christi, Texas; a sister, Vera Haller of Longmont, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday (Nov. 9, 2002) at the Palisade Church of the Nazarene in Palisade with the Rev. Don Blanchard officiating. Inurnment will be in Stratton.
