OMAHA -- Dorotha Darlene Bowersox Frost, 95, formerly of Palisade, died Sunday (Nov. 24, 2002) in Omaha.
She was born June 30, 1907, to Joshua M. and Della Alta (Beeney) Bowersox on the family farm southeast of Palisade. She graduated from Trenton High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She followed teaching as a profession, teaching in Hamlet, Arapahoe, Palisade and Waycross, Ga.
On Oct. 18, 1941, she married James Ralph Frost. Shortly after their marriage, he began service in the Army Air Corps, and they lived in Inglewood, Calif., Baton Rouge, La., and Waycross. After his discharge from the service, they settled in Omaha where she lived until the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Ralph Frost; parents, Joshua and Della Bowersox; two brothers, Bruce and Clinton Bowersox; and two sisters, Betha Smith and Ethel Pflug.
She is survived by three nieces, Jean and husband, Theodore Tuke of Pittsford, N.Y., Ardith and husband, Richard Miller of Westminster, Colo., and Nelda and husband, Harlan Waugh of Fremont; and 17 great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Palisade Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Burial will be at the Palisade Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the Palisade Community Foundation.
