WILSONVILLE -- James E. Haught, 64, died Sunday (Dec. 1, 2002) at his home in Wilsonville.
He was born Aug. 7, 1938, to Okey and Anna (Krakauskas) Haught at New Britain, Conn. He grew up in Connecticut.
On Feb. 27, 1960, he married Carol Lee Scibek at Farmington, Conn. They moved to Colorado in 1969. In 1984, they moved to Nebraska where they opened their own restaurant. They moved to Wilsonville in 1994 where they operated the Wilsonville Cafe. She died Aug. 15, 1996.
On Jan. 6, 2001, he married Merna (Brand) Shearer at Wilsonville.
Survivors include his wife, Merna of Wilsonville; three sons, James Haught and wife, Diane of McGehee, Ark., David Haught and wife, Kateri of Brighton, Colo., and Frank Haught and wife, Kristin of Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Eve Marie and husband, Mark Bell of Keenesberg, Colo.; two step-sons, Kelvin Shearer and wife, Yvonne of Kearney and William Shearer and wife, Thersa of Arapahoe; a step-daughter, Carol and husband, Steve Lentell of Kearney; three brothers, Robert Haught of Richmond, N.H., Joseph Haught of Southington, Conn., and Frank Haught of Florida; five sisters, Mary DiMugno of Ft. Myers, Fla., Ruth Pierce of Longmont, Colo., Louise Bard of Sinclair, Maine, June Dalke of Nashua, N.H., and Margaret Perkins of New Britain, Conn.; and 24 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at the Baptist-Christian Church in Wilsonville with Keith Theobald and Grady Weichel officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City is in charge of arrangements.
