MCDONALD -- Claribel Shaw Bell, 85, died Monday (Dec. 2, 2002) in Denver, Colo.
She was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Bonus, Texas, to George and Minnie (Cruse) Shaw. She grew up in Caldwell, Texas. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor College and then worked in the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services office in Caldwell.
On Nov. 4, 1939, she married Clarence Bell in Tucson, Ariz., where they lived for four years before moving to McDonald in 1943.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; brother, Henry Shaw; and all of her husband's immediate family.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam and husband Dan Thomas of McDonald; brothers, George Shaw and wife, Darlene of Seabrook, Texas, and Leon Shaw and wife, Doris of Caldwell; sister-in-law, Frances Shaw of Caldwell; one grandson; one step-grandson; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at the Federated Church in McDonald with the Rev. Gregory Moyer officiating. Interment will be in the Grace Cemetery at McDonald.
Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Federated Church in McDonald.
