Maurice R. Schrock

HOLBROOK -- Maurice R. Schrock, 76, died Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002) at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born Oct. 21, 1926, at Seldon, Kan., to Glen A. and Sylvia M. (Crabill) Schrock. He grew up in Northwest Kansas and graduated from Rexford High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy. After his time of service with the Navy, he returned to Rexford.

On June 19, 1949, he married Sharlene J. Garrett in Rexford. He worked as a manager for grain elevators in Northwest Kansas, Northeast Colorado and Southwest Nebraska. In 1974, they moved to Holbrook.

He was a member of the Holbrook Lions Club and the American Legion of Peetz, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Schrock; daughter, Theresa Schrock; two brothers, Clair and Harold Schrock; and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlene of Holbrook; son, Dennis Schrock of Gothenburg; three daughters, Linda and husband, Jim Roeloe of Peetz, Sherry and husband, Jerry Segelke of Sidney and Bobbi and husband, Mike Moore of Arapahoe; two brothers, Gary Schrock and wife, Shirley of Pueblo, Colo., and Phillip Schrock and wife, Marilyn of Lodi, Calif.; four sisters, Eldine Neill of Mankato, Kan., Maurine Yeager of Russell, Kan., Bonnie and husband, Bob Fike of Corona, Calif., and Vinita Buettenbaugh of Lebanon, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were today, 1:30 p.m., at the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe with the Rev. Scott Moyer and Ken Breinig officiating. Burial was at 4:30 p.m., at the Rexford Cemetery at Rexford.
