ARAPAHOE -- Ella G. Johnson, 85, of Greenwood Village, Colo., died Thursday (Dec. 12, 2002) at Mariner Health Center in Greenwood Village. She was a former resident of Arapahoe.

She was born March 15, 1917, to Henry and Lydia (Walz) Lampe at St. Francis. She attended country school in Cheyenne County.

On Nov. 27, 1939, she married Roland P. "Bus" Johnson at Kimball. They moved to Arapahoe to help his father farm southwest of Arapahoe. They farmed until 1976, when they moved into Arapahoe to retire. She volunteered for the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center, Meals on Wheels and the First United Methodist Church. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Greenwood Village, Colo.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe and the Jolly Thimble Club of Arapahoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland "Bus" on Jan. 5, 2002; son-in-law, John Rudiger; and brother, Harvey Lampe.

Survivors include two daughters, Cleo and husband, Richard Overholser of Roswell, Ga., and Virginia and husband, Robert Hase of Centennial, Colo.; brother, Leland Lampe and wife, Joyce of Burlington, Colo.; sisters, Frances and husband, Helmuth Orth of Burlington, Colo., and Nina and husband, Harold Raile of St. Francis; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Hyeongdong Baek officiating. Burial will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery at Arapahoe.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in her name.
