QUINTER, Kan. -- Dennis "Jim" H. Corder, 87, died Friday (Dec. 20, 2002) at the Gove County Medical Center Long Term Facility in Quinter, Kan.
He was born Nov. 20, 1915, to Joseph and Rosa (Hetrick) Corder on a farm in Sheridan County. He was raised in rural Quinter and attended Pleasant Ridge County School. He graduated from Quinter High School in 1934. In the fall of 1934, his family moved to Selden.
On May 12, 1940, he married Laura Belle Hase. They resided in Selden. He was a farmer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura in 1981; an infant brother; brothers, Elmer "Dick", Elmo "Bill", Jud, Ervin, Lee and Herb; and one sister, Violet Yeleke.
Survivors include one son, Michael and wife, Susan Corder of Evanston, Wyo.; one daughter, Flossy and husband, David Young of Austin, Texas; one sister, Thelma Fowler of Oakley, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were today, 1 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden with the Rev. Elin Colglazier officiating.
Interment was in the Selden Cemetery.
