OBERLIN -- Cleta Faye Wenger, 72, died Monday (Jan. 6, 2003) at her home in Oberlin.
She was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Rawlins County, to James E. and Ethel A. (Meyers) Gilbert. She attended grade school at Rose Dale School and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1948.
On Aug. 1, 1948, she married Lawrence Wenger in Oberlin. She was a homemaker. They resided on a farm southwest of Oberlin until they retired in December of 1985, and moved to Oberlin.
She was a member of the United Church of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Cindy Wenger; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of Oberlin; one son, Norbert Wenger of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Judy Wenger of Oberlin; brother, James Gilbert and wife, Doris of Gem, Kan.; four sisters, Dorothy and husband, Thane Emahizer of Ludell, Kan., Marian Dempewolf, Karon Scott and Donna and husband, Bruce Guinn all of Oberlin; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Nolan Pierce and the Rev. Barbara Pierce officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery at Oberlin.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and after 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be given in her name to the United Church of Oberlin, Cottonwood Home Care or the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
