BEAVER CITY -- Hazel Christensen, 86, died Monday (Jan. 6, 2003) at the Beaver City Manor.
She was born March 9, 1916, at Beaver City, to Fred and Catherine (Inman) Hardenbrook. She was a life long resident of the Beaver City area and graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1933.
On Dec. 11, 1935, she married Ralph Christensen at Beaver City. They farmed south of Beaver City for six years before moving to her family farm west of town where they resided. She entered the Beaver City Manor on April 15, 2002.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Beaver City where she also taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Doran; three brothers; two sisters; and one grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph of Beaver City; son, Neal Christensen and wife, Karen of Lincoln; two daughters, Sharon and husband, John Rupe of Holdrege and Linda and husband, Wayne Pate of Villa Rica, Ga.; one brother, Bob Hardenbrook and wife, Irma of Thornton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at the First Christian Church in Beaver City with Phil Olsen officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to services Thursday at the church.
