Glenn L. Meyer, 80, died Saturday (Jan. 11, 2003) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Lincoln, to Martin and Mabel (Loetterle) Meyer Sr. He grew up in Lincoln where he received his education. He began working for the Lincoln Gas Company.
On Aug. 29, 1948, he married Norma Glantz at Lincoln. They came to McCook in October of 1950, where they spent the remainder of their lives. He was a mechanic for Manny Oldsmobile and Cadillac and later for Budke Motors. He became an employee in the Maintenance Department for McCook Public Schools.
He was a member of the McCook Eagles Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma in 1997; and daughter, Mary Jane.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Meyer of Lincoln and Mary and husband, Chris Hegert of Kearney; two brothers, Martin Meyer Jr. of Lincoln and James Meyer of Prague; one sister, Priscilla Freelove of Denver, Colo.; mother-in-law, Katherine Hastings of McCook; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 2 p.m., at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
