Lyle Eugene Springer

Lyle Eugene Springer died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003). He was 56 years old.

Lyle was born Jan. 18, 1946, on the family farm north of Danbury, to Cloyce and Bertha (Goltl) Springer. He attended grade school in Danbury and graduated from Beaver Valley High School in 1964. He also attended McCook Community College and Kearney State College, receiving a degree as an Industrial Arts Teacher.

On June 27, 1970, he married Charlene Elwood at the Christian Church in Wilsonville. He taught 33 years in the Hershey, Beaver Valley, Twin Valley and Herndon Schools.

His many hobbies included woodworking and refinishing antique furniture, going to auctions, and farming. He loved young people including his students and especially playing with his granddaughter, Bugaboo.

Preceding him in death were his parents Cloyce and Bertha Springer and brother, Marvin Springer.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene; children, Matt Springer and wife, Stacy of Sutherland, Mary Jo and husband, Robb Overton, of McCook, and Casey Springer and fiance, Jennifer McMichael, of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Bailee and Alyssa Springer; sister, LaDonna and husband, Steve Harrison, of Lebanon; brothers, Loyal Springer and wife, Lynda, of Lebanon and Marlin Springer of McCook; numerous relatives and a host of friends.

Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church with Dewayne Jackson officiating. Burial will be at the Hamburg Cemetery near Danbury.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name.
