ATWOOD -- Elsie L. (Flick) Bergling, 97, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.
She was born March 8, 1905, in Braman, Okla., to John and Clara (Lawrence) Flick.
On Dec. 30, 1927, she married Andrew A. Bergling in Newkirk, Okla. They moved from Oklahoma to Kansas in 1928, and lived on a farm east of Atwood. She was a homemaker. They also traveled the United States and Canada selling signs. In 1959, they moved to Truth or Consequences, N.M., returning to Kansas in 1979.
She was a former member of the Atwood Methodist Church and later attended the Atwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew in 1974; two brothers, Roy and Walter Flick; and two sisters, Viola Flick and Della Heuszel.
Survivors include nephews, Quentin Bergling and wife, Olive, and Verol Bergling and wife, Rosemary, all of Atwood.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the Atwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Dotson and the Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Atwood Fairview Cemetery at Atwood.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home and from noon until service time at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Atwood Baptist Church, Atwood Good Samaritan Center or to the charity of choice.
