EDISON -- Charlie Park, 58, died Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003) at his home in Edison.

He was born Feb. 11, 1945, to Bennie and Nettie (Penrod) Park in Danbury. He lived in a number of communities in Nebraska and Colorado while growing up.

On May 21, 1965, he married Jeri Bash of Alma in Phillipsburg, Kan. The couple resided in Furnas County where he worked for Better Buys, Oxford Cheese Factory and in road construction. In 1977, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad. In his retirement he sang gospel music for churches and nursing homes.

He was a member of the New Wine Fellowship Church in Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie; one son, Tony in 1972; one brother, Puzz in 1992; and brother-in-law, Orville Stump in 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Jeri Park of Edison; his mother, Nettie Park of Cambridge; one son, Eric and wife, Coni Park of Norton, Kan.; one daughter, Tina and husband, Gary Breinig of Oxford; two brothers, Bob and wife, Joanne Park of Greeley, Colo., and Roger Park of Edison; three sisters, Barbara Stump of Oxford, Ruth and husband, Frank Sayer of Cambridge and Twila and husband, Harold Kapppers of Edison; sister-in-law, Cheryl Park of Port Aransas, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at New Wine Fellowship Church in Orleans with Pastor Lana Dake officiating. Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, until 8 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, and prior to services at the church in Orleans.

Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City is in charge of the arrangements.
