SELDEN -- Edward "Bill" Vaughn, 81, died Saturday (March 8, 2003) at Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.
He was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Medford, Ore., to Bert S. and Muriel (Custard) Vaughn. He was raised in Selden. He attended Selden Grade School and High School where he graduated in 1939. He attended Hays Electrical School in Chicago, Ill.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Jan. 27, 1948, he married Leona L. Korte in Selden. They resided in Selden. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a member of the Selden American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Leona in 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Murray Vaughn of Selden and Gary Vaughn and wife, De of Farmington, N.M.; one daughter, Karen and husband, Roger Raymond of Colby, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden with the Rev. Glenn Krebs officiating. Interment will be in the Selden Cemetery at Selden.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
