ARAPAHOE -- Leona A. Warner, 90, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at the Cambridge Manor in Cambridge. She was born Jan. 1, 1913, at Milton, in Gosper County, to Henry W. and Maria F.C. (Schievelbein) Monter. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Gosper County.

On April 10, 1932, she married Oscar Warner at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Gosper County. They resided on a farm south of Holbrook where they farmed until they moved to Arapahoe in 1969.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Lutheran Women's Quilting Group and the Sunny Southside Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar in 1997; one daughter, Carolyn Barnett; two brothers, Reinhold and Herb Monter; two sisters, Hilda Hermes and Hertha Ziebell; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Survivors include three sons, Lyman Warner of Manning, Iowa, Rod Warner and wife, Audrey of Holbrook and Larry Warner and wife, Vicky of Funk; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandsons; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe with the Rev. Carl Lilienkamp officiating. Burial will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name.
