TRENTON -- E.D. Jones, 80, died Friday (March 14, 2003) at El Dorado Manor Nursing Home in Trenton.
He was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Hitchcock County, to Thomas William and Mamie R. (McNair) Jones. He grew up on a farm southwest of Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School in 1941.
On May 27, 1944, he married Louise Seybold at Atwood.
On July 24, 1944, he entered the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He spent his working life in the Trenton community where he was a commercial truck driver and cattle buyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise in 1995; one son, Lloyd Jones in 1971; one brother, Lloyd Jones; and three sisters, Arletta Heinz, Arlene Smith and Viola Jones.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean and husband, Jerry Brush of Holdrege; one son, John Jones and wife, Judy of Red Feather Lakes, Colo.; and six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors were Monday, 2 p.m., at the Trenton Cemetery with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion officiating. Interment is in the Trenton Cemetery.
