OBERLIN -- Bernice Lucille Meixner, 86, died Sunday (March 16, 2003) at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.
She was born March 15, 1917, in Oberlin, to Earl C. and Mabel M. (McLalain) Wilson. She grew up in the Oberlin area and attended Mount Pleasant Rural Grade School. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1935.
On Nov. 23, 1941, she married Elvin G. Meixner. They lived on an Oberlin area farm before moving to Oberlin. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Oberlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvin in 1993; and one brother, Merl Wilson.
Survivors include three sons, Norman Meixner and wife, Hannelore of McCook, Curtis Meixner and wife, Connie of Arkansas City, Kan., and Lloyd Meixner of Boulder, Colo.; two brothers, Gordon and Floyd Wilson of Oberlin; one sister, Doris and husband, Edwin Black of Oberlin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Royce Leitner officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery at Oberlin.
Visitation is Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name to St. Judes Children's Hospital in Mempis, Tenn., Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney or the Oberlin Senior Citizens Center.
