Mileham 'Miles' E. Ray

OBERLIN -- Mileham "Miles" E. Ray, 87, died Monday (March 17, 2003) at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo.

He was born June 22, 1915, at Orleans, to Jesse and Eva (Robertson) Ray. He graduated from high school at Republican City and later graduated from Denver University.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

On April 2, 1948, he married Ila Robertson in Denver, Colo. They moved to Oberlin in the fall of 1951. He was the owner of Ray's Jewelry at Oberlin.

He was a member of the United Church of Oberlin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Helen.

Survivors include his wife, Ila Ray of Oberlin; three daughters, Vicky Ray of Oberlin, Karen and husband, Gayle Berkey and Marla Manning all of Littleton, Colo.; sister-in-law, Jean Earlywine of Lewisville, Colo; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, 4 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin with the Revs. Nolan and Barbara Pierce officiating. Interment was in the Oberlin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Oberlin Library or the Oberlin Country Club.
