DAVID CITY -- David Priest Jr., 47, died Saturday (March 22, 2003) in Lincoln.

He was born March 27, 1955, in Lincoln, to David and Betty (Weyand) Priest Sr.

On June 7, 1986, he married Jody Kopecky in Lincoln. He was a manager at Kabredlos in Lincoln.

He was a past vice president of the National Jaycees, and a member of the Independence, Mo., Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Bowen; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Kopecky.

Survivors include his wife, Jody of David City; four sons, Shane Priest of David City, Aaron, Shawn and Joshua Priest of Independence, Mo.; one daughter, Whitney Priest of David City; one stepdaughter, Nicole Rotter of David City; his father, David Priest, Sr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepmothers, Judy and Cherill Priest; one brother, Mark Priest and wife, Diane of McCook; one half-brother, Chris Priest of Chicago, Ill.; one half-sister, Lisa; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, 7 p.m., at Knott Funeral Home in David City with the Rev. Robert Gearhart officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's and St. Peters cemetery in rural Bellwood.

Memorials may be given to the family.
