Donald Lee Bilsing

Funeral services for Donald Lee Bilsing, 74, of Lubbock, Texas, were Wednesday (March 19, 2003) in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with the Rev. Ken Horn officiating. Interment was at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

He died Saturday (March 15, 2003) in Lubbock. He was born Jan. 1, 1929, in Culbertson, to Charles and Mary Bilsing. He was raised on a farm in Culbertson and graduated from high school there. He worked for TRW Electronics in Nebraska. He was responsible for the design of the first minuteman missile capacitor. He married Lillian Marie Alexander on July 14, 1966, in Lubbock. She died Feb. 27, 2003. He retired on his four-acre farm in northeast Lubbock. He played the harmonica and the piano and he loved to draw. He was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include four daughters, Connie Lynn Keith of Lubbock, Barbara Ellen Baker of Knoxville, Tenn., Terri Lea Lewis of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Cynthia Jane Cokerell of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; one brother, Sam Bilsing of Lawrence, Kan.; two sisters, Dixie Minery of Grand Island and Virginia Myers of McCook; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
