Dina Doyle

Dina Doyle, recently of Longmont, Colo., formerly of McCook, passed away at Longmont United Hospital on Monday (May 5, 2003). She was born in McCook on Oct. 2, 19 (that's Dina's business), to Robert E. and Ina P. (Askey) McDonald.

Dina lived in McCook most of her life and was a member of First Christian Church, Eureka Chapter No. 86 Order of Eastern Star, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2769, Daughters of the American Revolution, Ladies Auxiliary to Barracks No. 365 World War 1 Veterans, Sweet Adelines and McCook Historical Society. As an avid historian she was also the curator of the High Plains Museum for several years.

Her passions included Big Red football, the Green Bay Packers, the San Francisco Giants, fishing, community theatre, singing, gardening, cooking, and most of all, her family.

Dina is survived by her step-dad, John Gallatin; her children, Jan and her husband, Jerry Williams, of Longmont, Colo., Stanley J. Kanowicz and Sandra, of Reading, Pa., and Chrys and her husband, Tom Klahr, of Wellington, Colo. Her grandchildren are Scott Meadows and his wife, Kelly of Chesapeake, Va., Joella Williams of Canoga Park, Calif., Jay Williams and Sara Hall of Scottsbluff, Justin Kanowicz and Jody Klahr of McCook, Christopher Kanowicz of Bergan, N.J.; and great grandchildren Matthew and Andy Conley, Keegan and Klohe Williams and Chloe Hall.

She is predeceased by her parents; first husband, Stanley J. Kanowicz, Sr.; second husband, George Doyle; sister, Imogene Nottage; brother, Robert Benjamin McDonald; and son, Robert E. Kanowicz.

Viewing at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, 305 West C Street, will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, and Friday morning.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery of McCook.
