DeLux Grocery a 'war time casulty'

The sale of all shoes was halted in the nation's 200,000 shoe stores on Feb. 7, 1943. The surprised shopkeepers were allowed a full day to prepare for rationing shoes, no more than three pair a year, and sales were allowed again on February 9th.
