Dear Editor,

On Nov. 10, 28 people gathered at D's (Elks Club) to celebrate the 226th birthday of the Marine Corps. It was a great evening, thanks to the efforts of Duane Tappe, Dan Stramel and Jerry Calvin, who arranged for the gathering and organized the traditional birthday ceremony. There was a surprise at the end of the celebration when it was announced that an anonymous individual paid for all the dinners. On behalf of those present, I would like to thank that person for his or her generous and gracious gift.
