Good ship Grace

Monday, July 1, 2002

Dear Editor,

Many of our ancestors left Europe to come to the United States of America. As they approached New York harbor, at a distance they could make out the Statue of Liberty and some of the buildings vaguely but the closer they got the more distinctly they could see them. Finally they were in the harbor and they could see everything with distinct clarity.

The good ship Grace has been at sea for 2,000 years now. It left the port at Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives with the ascension of Jesus up into Heaven. John 14:2-3 has been quoted at many funerals.

Jesus said, "I am going away to prepare a mansion (for you to live in. After I get it prepared, I will come back again and get you and take you to that mansion."

Hosea 6:2 gives us the length of time He would be gone -- two days (2,000 years). It says "After two days He will revive us (Israel) (quicken us, give us life); on the third day He will raise us up that we may live before Him." This is the major sign that tells us the end is near. Israel became a nation once again in 1948, since they were conquered by the Roman army and scattered into every nation on the face of the earth. There are a whole host of other supporting signs that tell us we are in the harbor.

The next major event is the rapture, when Jesus comes in the clouds, the resurrection of the righteous dead takes place and we who have trusted Jesus as our personal Savior are caught up into the clouds with them, given a brand new body that will never know sickness, death or pain and taken to our new home in Heaven. I want to get a whole trainload of you to go with me.

That only condition is that you must sincerely believe that Jesus died in your place, for your sins and then act on that belief and call upon Him and ask Him to be your Savior. Your Friend,

Paul Schneider
