Remember August

Wednesday, November 20, 2002

Dear Editor,

Congratulations to the McCook High School football team and the coaches for earning a position to play for the championship in the Class B finals at Memorial Stadium this upcoming Saturday. Not only are the coaches and trainers to be commended for their dedication and hard work, but also for the respect and positive reinforcement given their players.

The loyalty of the McCook fans has been evident by the great "Bison Spirit" shown at both home and away games. Thank you to Melissa Blauvelt and Officer Kevin Darling for the red and white Bison flags on the fences at the last two games. I have heard so many positive remarks from members of the community regarding how great they looked that I want to extend a special thanks to them for the time and expense put into this.

Each and every varsity player, as well as the trainers and coaches are represented by a flag -- what a great way to show team support! They looked so wonderful in Aurora -- I am anxious to see them flying in Lincoln, also. It will be wonderful to know that the "Sea of Red" always present at Memorial Stadium will be Bison fans this time!

We are all looking forward to a great game, and that wonderful showing of Bison spirit!

Go Big Red!

Sincerely,

Debra Cappel

McCook
