Dear Editor,

Citizens of McCook, thank you for voting back in the 1 percent sales tax. It will save me lots of money.

I will do my shopping at the Countryside Food Service and get my meat at the Butcher Block, where they have great hamburger, sausage and roast beef.

I can shop Lord's Hardware for large appliances, down to nuts and bolts.

I can get my chickens and chicken feed at Tri-Valley Feed. I have a choice of three hair salons and I can get birthday cards, gifts, school supplies and much more at the Indianola News.

To get my car cleaned, I can go to Buff-n-Vac or I can do it myself at the carwash.

I can get gas at a station that has full service, free coffee, popcorn and a lively conversation.

Feel like eating out? There is Bed Red's and the Rocket Inn. Don't worry, you McCookites, we won't charge you extra for coming down for that famous Rocket Inn pizza or for shopping at our other fine merchants.

Like I said, it will save me money and I won't have to hear my husband keep saying, "That wasn't on the list," "that wasn't on the list," as we are shopping.

Thank you Citizens of McCook for opening up my eyes to what I have right here at home. No property tax relief from me.
