Couple unites in late summer ceremony

AURORA -- Jessica Lynn Bland and Dennis DeRay Ferguson were united in marriage Sept. 28, 2002, at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora with the Rev. Rick Prettyman officiating.

Parents of the couple are Boyd and Karen Bland of Gove and Dennis and Shirley Ferguson of Palisade.

Grandparents of the couple are Kenneth and Mae Bland of Grove, Mary Ann Herl of Victoria, the late Edwin Herl, Raymond and Roberta Werkmeister of Palisade and the late Dean and Bonnie Ferguson.

The maid of honor was Kimberly Heier. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Novak, sister of the bride, Cheryl Ferguson, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Nanci Uhrmacher.

Derek Ferguson, brother of the bridegroom, served as the best man. Bridegroomsmen were Randy Heckenlively, Bill Kuehner and Jeff Krumm.

The flower girl was Shayla Novak, niece of the bride and the ring bearer was Brandon Novak, nephew of the bride.

Ushers were Jamie Bland, brother of the bride, Clint Herl, cousin of the bride, Shane Dose and Colyn Suda.

The bride is a graduate of Wheatland High School and of Fort Hayes State University. She is a marketing analyst for Sandhills Publishing in Lincoln.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Palisade High School and Chadron State College. He is vice president of Cornerstone Bank in Aurora and Hampton.

The couple is making their home in York.
