Parents of the couple are Brad and Mary Hock of Culbertson and Bill and Onie Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She is employed as a statistical coordinator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Bellevue University and is employed as an account clerk at Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. The couple is planning an Aug. 31, 2002, ceremony at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook.
