Highway 83 Association receives $2,000 tourism grant

STAPLETON -- The Nebraska Highway 83 Trade and Travel Association - Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway was awarded a $2,000 tourism marketing grant from the Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism. The grant will fund promotion of a Nebraska Sky video and guides project.

The video features a song entitled "Nebraska Sky" which was donated by Kim Baxter of the musical group CHANCE. According to Association President, Monica Harvey, Stapleton, the grant money will be used for the production of "800 3-minute videos to be used for tour buses, and 300 tour guides for Sturgis South Dakota motorcycle packets." The Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism received 98 grant requests totaling $689,563.67. The Highway 83 Association grant was one of forty grants that were funded.
