Tree rebates are available this month

Tuesday, October 8, 2002

The McCook City Tree Board has announced that the 2002 Tree Rebate Program is in effect until Oct. 31.

McCook residents can purchase up to three trees and receive a rebate.

The trees must be purchased locally and must be chosen from an approved list of species.

Residents can receive a rebate equal to 75 percent of the total purchase price of each shade and ornamental tree (price of the tree plus the price of mulch material) and not to exceed $50 per tree.

The trees must be purchased between Sept. 9 and Oct. 31, 2002 to qualify for the rebate.

Rebates can be received by the City Clerk at the McCook city offices with a sales slip stating the cost and type of tree.

More information can be obtained by calling Anne Kennedy at (308) 345-7710.
