Water committee ready to vote recommendation to City Council

Wednesday, October 9, 2002

The Water Advisory Committee will hold its final meeting as scheduled on Tuesday at the Heritage Senior Center, beginning at 7 p.m.

Because of a delay in receiving critical information in Olsson Associates report, Jeff Tidyman, the committee's chairman, had considered postponing the meeting.

However, the missing information should be in place by the Tuesday, and the members are ready to meet, Tidyman said. The Water Advisory Committee has had a successful year, he said. All of the members of the committee have been extremely faithful in their attendance and the related issues have been passionately discussed, he said.

"The meeting on the 15th should be no different," he said. "A lively informed discussion between the members is expected."

Everyone who is interested in the water issue is encouraged to attend, including media, city staff and the public. Any member of the public who is unable to attend should contact a member of the committee to provide input.

The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the city's options for providing quality water. The committee will conclude its meeting by voting on a recommendation to the City Council.
