Check-in at sheriff's office

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will be manning the McCook deer check station from 8 a.m to 8 p.m., during the annual rifle season Saturday, Nov. 16 to Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Red Willow County Sheriff's office at 502 Norris Avenue.

NGPC staff will be collecting a minimum of 100 deer heads to test for Chronic Wasting Disease.

The collection will be on a volunteer basis and NGPC staff will be on hand to collect the specimens.

During the archery and muzzleloader seasons, the Red Willow County Sheriff's department will be on hand 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and available on an on-call basis during the weekends, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
