Services will be Sunday for a Cambridge woman killed in a head-on collision Sunday near Grand Island.

The woman, Fern I. Ross, 79, was northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 281 at the highway's Interstate 80 overpass at about 3:30 p.m. CST when her car collided head-on with a pickup, Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Bryan Simonson said.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lockenour-Jones Funeral Home in Cambridge.

In a separate accident, 72-year-old Marjorie Pierce of Sargent was killed Monday when the car she was driving went out of control and rolled on state Highway 70 about 12 miles east of Broken Bow, Custer County sheriff officials said.

Pierce was not wearing a seat belt, a dispatcher said.

The deaths brought the number of people killed on Nebraska roads to 303 this year, compared with 242 by Dec. 24, 2001.
