Pennies and pizza

Jacob Fahrenbruch enjoys a pizza party, the reward his third grade class earned for raising the most money at North Ward in a "Pennies for the Playground" project sponsored by McCook schools PTO's. Jake and his classmates in Nancy Buresh's class raised $176.12 in change to help the PTO's purchase new playground equipment for the elementary schools. Winning classes at West Ward were Sheri Lyster's kindergarten, $166.04; and Rose Sitzman's first graders, $155.14. First place classes at East Ward were: Cassa Haney's class, $290.88; and Cheri Wallace's, $237.61. The grand total raised in change was $2,199.78. Casey's West provided pizza and the PTO donated pop for the winning classes.
