Let Freedom Ring

Friday, February 21, 2003

First Central Bank of McCook has purchased and is now the permanent home of Kenny Meyers' rug sculpture, "Let Freedom Ring," which toured the United States and Europe after taking first place in a national contest sponsored by the National Association of Rugmakers and Sculptors. The patriotic theme actually predated the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. Kenny's wife, Becky, downloaded the artwork she used in designing the creation on Sept. 9, 2001. On hand for the hanging of the artwork are (from left) Gloria Mefford, executive vice president of the bank; Becky Meyers; Kenny Meyers; Don Moore, president of the bank; and Vicky Young, vice president of the bank.
