Arts Council kicks off fund-raising

McCook Arts Council Board of Directors members kicked off their 2003-04 fund raising campaign at their regular meeting Tuesday.

The McCook Arts Council will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2003.

The mission of the council is to unify member organizations with fund raising and to promote, coordinate, and support their activities.

Member organizations include the McCook Concert Association, McCook Art Guild, McCook Community Chorus, Southwest Nebraska Community Theatre Association and the Buffalo Commons Storytelling Festival.  

The McCook Arts Council also supports education in the arts through the Artists-in-Schools program at both the public and parochial schools. 

McCook Arts Council Board of Directors include President Alice Harpst, Vice-President Jay Austin, Treasurer Ruth Leopold, and Secretary Dale Dueland and members Floyd Hershberger, Jon Burkey, Cloyd Clark, Linda Crandall-Jones, Dee Friehe, Stephanie Gunter, Don Harpst, Nancy Mousel, Carl Philo, Shary Skiles, Norma Stevens, Richard Tubbs, Jon Wacker, Jan Blank, Helen Allen and Barb Anderson.
